Writer's Block

There's a certain fear to sharing one's thoughts even if anonymously. Am I witty enough, will people like what I have to say, and even frequently checking how many people have viewed your profile. I guess I had the most adverse reaction to my first blog, an ignoring of what I created like a baby left in Nebraska never to be seen again.

After talking to a friend who gave me words of encouragement, I've decided to resuscitate this blog after a two month slumber.

An introduction

I'd love to say that this blog was inspired by an intimate dinner at a restaurant, or how my mom's love of cooking rubbed off on me as a young child. As fanciful as that all sounds, it isn't the case at all. My inspiration was an insult uttered me by someone and it stuck with me. "Oh girl, you've got yourself a fat girl lunch!" As much as that statement bothered me at the time, I decided to run with it.

Fat Girl Lunch Club. In my mind everyone has an inner fat girl (even guys), but not everyone embraces her. Those of us who are in touch with their inner fat girl are all card carrying members of the Fat Girl Lunch Club. Being a "Fat Girl" isn't weight related, it's a state of mind, knowing that just because you like yourself, it's okay to eat an entire plate of bacon, have an ice cream cone, or enjoy a glass of wine.

I realize that starting this blog is adding to the already crowded ocean of food blogs already out there. I plan on posting pictures at times, but I can't promise they will be high quality, and I definitely won't fool myself into thinking they could be published in a magazine. I'm not looking to be extraordinary, just share my loves of food, cooking, and kitchen gadgets. Hopefully once things get rolling and I start blogging on a regular basis you'll enjoy reading my random ramblings as much as I'll enjoy sharing them with you.
